Let’s start off the July 4th party tips on a sweet note! This brownie flag recipe has July 4th written all over it. Whether you use a boxed brownie recipe or a homemade one just be sure to make enough so your brownie is thick. Cover your brownie with white frosting and add some strawberries and blueberries on top to create the flag pattern. Check out the brownie recipe below and bake up your brownie flag this July 4th!

Ingredients –

  • 12 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 2 (16-ounce) containers white frosting

Directions –

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9X13-inch pan with aluminum foil. Make sure the foil extends up the sides so that you will be able to lift the brownies out of the pan. Spray with cooking spray.
  2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Whisk in sugar and cocoa powder.
  3. Make sure mixture is not hot and then whisk in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in flour, salt, and baking powder.Fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. Bake for about 22 to 25 minutes. Let cool completely.
  6. Lift brownie out of pan and place on a serving tray. Spread with a thin layer of frosting.
  7. Arrange blueberries in rows in the top left corner. Place strawberry slices in rows.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Red, White, and Blueberry Coconut SlushiesJuly 4th party tips

Ingredients –

  • 1 1/2 cups lemonade
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries and/or raspberries
  • 1 cup light coconut milk
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • Agave nectar, to taste
  • Blueberries

Directions –

  1. Make the red layer by placing lemonade, frozen strawberries and/or raspberries and agave nectar (to taste) in a blender.
  2. Blend and adjust the liquid or frozen fruit if necessary to get the right slushy consistency. Set aside.
  3. Make the white layer by placing coconut milk, ice and agave nectar (to taste) in the blender. Pulse/blend and set aside.
  4. Pour the berry and coconut slushies in layers into glasses. Top with fresh blueberries and serve immediately.
